Theatre in the Park – 31st July, Elms Field, Wokingham
Head down to Elms field on 31st July to enjoy a fun-filled performance, ‘Bottom’s Dream’!
Yes, we know what you’re thinking about the title – but the play is a family friendly and upbeat theatre adventure based on the story of Bottom from William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream!
Written and directed by Bart Lee (with a little help from William Shakespeare), the play takes the whole family on a journey with Bottom and his friends as the naughty goblin Puck plays a trick on him - resulting in hilarity!
There will be two performances at 11am and 2pm – both absolutely FREE. Bring a blanket, chairs, and maybe a picnic! Click here for further details.
Pinewood Miniature Railway – 21st August, The Pinewood Centre, Wokingham Without
For over 30 years, the Pinewood Miniature Railway has been delighting children of all ages and remains as popular as ever today. In service every third Sunday from 1:30-4:00pm, five trains with a variety of engines run every few minutes at the Pinewood Centre, taking passengers of all ages on an adventure through the woodland.
Tickets are £1.50 per ride or four rides for £5, and under threes go free! No booking is required, but be sure to stick the 21st August in your diary! Find out more about the railway here or on the dedicated Facebook page.
Wokingham Festival - 27th-29th August, Cantley Playing Fields, Wokingham
Set up 14 years ago by locals who thought Wokingham should have their own festival, Wokingham Festival returns this year with its trademark mix of local, national, and international artists across two stages.
Eat, drink, dance and soak up the sun in a safe environment for the whole family at Cantley Park this August Bank Holiday weekend – check out prices and line-up info here!
California Country Park – Finchampstead
Let your little ones stretch their legs and explore at California Country Park in Finchampstead – a summer haven complete with play park, pirate ship, and in the summer months, a paddling pool!
Bring costumes, towels, and a picnic and recline on the soft grass as the youngsters cool off and splash around in the water. Perfect for those scorching hot days that we’re expecting this summer!

Oakwood Holiday Activity Days – The Oakwood Centre, Wokingham
Located between Wokingham and Bracknell, the Oakwood Centre offers daily activity days that allows kids to get out, get active, make friends, and develop important team-building skills. Children will take part in up to five exciting activities led by qualified instructors, from archery and abseiling to mountain biking and the flying kiwi!
